Rentalutions is a Chicago-based startup that helps make renting easy for DIY landlords and their tenants. More than 30,000 landlords and their tenants use our platform today in 8,000 zip codes across the United States. For the past 2 years, we have worked with national brands, such as State Farm, to match them with our landlords and tenants for products and services these users need, such as renters insurance. As an Account Director for local professionals, you’ll be on the ground floor of the launch of our local Preferred Professionals Program. We’ve learned that our DIY landlords often don’t have relationships with professionals (accountants, attorneys, real estate professionals, etc.), and they ask us for referrals. As a result, we developed a program that allows local professionals to become our exclusive professional, in their category, in their market. You will be responsible for building a pipeline of professionals in each category, closing deals, and maintaining relationships going forward.

You will:

We expect you to hit the ground running. The most important part of this role is developing an understanding of our platform and how landlords and tenants benefit from it. Next, you’ll need to develop and execute a plan for contacting professionals in each market about the opportunity. Then, you’ll be responsible for closing the deals and helping the professionals get up and running. You’ll be their ongoing point of contact, too.

You're a great fit if:

As one of the people responsible for closing deals with professionals, you will need a passion for building new relationships, a knack for brand storytelling, and at least some sales experience. Great written and oral communication skills are a must in this position. It should be obvious, but we’re a tech business, so familiarity with technology is necessary. If you’re familiar with sales prospecting tools, it’s a plus. We’re a small, but growing team, and this means you’ll need to be comfortable learning new skills, wearing multiple hats and adapting to a constantly changing set of responsibilities. If you’re looking to do the same mundane things day after day, this probably won’t work out.
