Yes, there is a fee that each applicant must pay to run the credit report and background check. This fee may range between $20 and $45 depending on exactly which reports you've required access to. Landlords don't pay anything. Tenants are used to paying application fees in the range of $45 to $90. Plus tenants can reuse their report with other landlords with no additional charge.
